News from the Western New York Regional Office

More than 4,500 participants served in the 2008-2009 funding year.

For the 2008-2009 funding year the Western New York Workforce Development Regional Office served over 4,500 participants and offered over 800 courses to residents of Erie, Genesee, Cattaraugus, Orleans, Chautauqua, Wyoming, Livingston, and Allegany counties.

In addition to the Niagara County programs, our regional office has training sites at

We additionally partnered with Niagara County Community College to offer computer software training programs to residents of Niagara County at the college’s Niagara Falls Extension and Summit Extension Sites. Between the two sites, three hundred people enrolled in the different courses offered.

Participant review and support for future courses has been overwhelmingly positive. In fact several Niagara County residents said they loved the courses and specifically asked that more be offered in the fall.
