WDI is leading the way in reshaping and retooling the workforce with skills for today and tomorrow.

Throughout the Capital Region, Syracuse, and Long Island, WDI is training hundreds of workers in smart grid technology.

In the Mohawk Valley WDI provided funds to a Frankfort, NY machine shop to upgrade in ISO14000, making the company more competitive and upgrading the skills of their workers.

WDI has partnered with the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation in the development of a new workforce development program focused on the healthcare sector.

In Rochester, WDI partnered with local Workforce Investment Boards to assist manufacturers in upgrading the skills of their workforce in order to utilize new technology and stay competitive.

In the North Country, WDI funded a “train the trainer” program for instructors at the Plattsburgh Aeronautical Institute, ensuring a work ready labor pool for a growing industry.

In Buffalo, Syracuse, and the Capital Region, WDI has partnered with NYSERDA to provide training to unemployed workers interested in a career in energy efficiency
