WDI is a leader in meeting the challenges and opportunities of workforce development. The escalating pace of change in technology in today’s workplace demands that we find innovative ways to identify, train, and retain the best workers to sustain economic vitality.

WDI meets these challenges by providing a broad range of  programs to address the technical skill needs of workers, as well as continuing learning programs for workers at all stages of their career, helping keep our workforce current and competitive.

Our regional offices offer customized technical training, industry specific training and general development programs that address the lifelong learning needs of current and future workers. The training we offer is in collaboration with outstanding partnerships built with businesses, unions, government, and community groups. Our collaborative initiatives allow us to reach and serve a broad audience.

Technical skills vary from job to job. Our investment in training provides opportunities for thousands of workers each year to attend courses, workshops, and seminars; acquire specific skills needed for today and tomorrow. Programs in computer technology, bus mechanics, and new “green sector” jobs opportunities such as becoming an energy auditor are just some examples of what we offer.

Workforce development is about more than technical training. WDI helps prepare workers to be successful in the workplace, providing classes that teach lifelong learning skills, leadership development, English as a Second Language, problem-solving, communications, creativity and much more.

Providing workforce development programs for families that will help sustain economic vitality for our communities is what we are all about. We invite you to explore the possibilities we can offer.
