WDI listens to the voices within organized labor, analyzes economic trends, determines which jobs, skills, and services are in demand, and brings the perspectives of working families into public discussions. 

In partnership with government agencies, WDI conducts sector analyses, community audits, and outreach to unions and industries at risk. WDI inventories the skills of unionized workers and develops training programs for workers.

WDI has collaborated in research projects analyzing the Photonics Industry in Monroe County and funded a series of community audits in Central New York, Mohawk Valley and North Country Region, Glenns Falls/Saratoga Region. (Click on the appropriate region to see the complete reports).
